I was truly amazed to discover one of the nature's great creations, the Twin Lake (Lake Balinsasayao) in Negros Oriental. Lake Balinsasayao is one of the three crater lakes rising 1,000 feet above sea level located in Sibulan, Negros Oriental which you can reach in less than an hour travel from Dumaguete City (approximately 12 km).

Getting can be quite challenging as it is not really accessible to public transport such as Jeepneys. Two ways to get there though: Bring your own car (rent a car) or take Habal-habal (motorbikes).
Lucky me I was able to borrow a motorcycle going there. :) if you can borrow or rent a motorcycle, I would recommend this so you can enjoy the lovely scenery and the cool breezy fresh air. You might just be very careful if you are not really a good motorcycle rider as the road going up is full of blind curves and slippery when wet roads.

Feel the cold breeze and very fresh air as you go up to the top to see the lake. Try to listen to the smoothing noise of the forest where you can hear the sounds of the birds and even see them freely fly all over.
It's really just an option for you to walk when going up form the entrance of this nature park as habal - habal (motorcycles) is still able to go through and bring you up to the top. For those who plan to bring or borrow a motorcycle or cars with noisy mufflers, just expect that you would be asked to left it behind in the entrance as they don't want the habitats here to be disturbed (it's a lesson learned for me).

Azalea Resort and Restaurant is along the way where you can enjoy a good lunch before heading to the top. I suggest you prepare to bring your own food though going up to the lake if you plan to enjoy eating just beside the lake as cottages are also available within the lake area particularly if you are going there with the entire family.

Once there, the entire family can just sit and enjoy the cold cozy place while in the cottage and others who likes adventures would surely love crossing the first lake to be able to get to the second lake. And hey, an option to go trekking is also up to you if you want to go to the other side of the lake.
